what factors must be taken into consideration when planning ?

There are a couple of key factors that we need to be aware of when planning our music video. :

  1. Mood of the song
  2. length of the song 
  3. target audience
  4. costumes
  5. willingness of cast
The mood of the song effects the sort of setting we will need to find for a video.
We have to make sure we out as many things we can in to attract our target audience for example young cast for a young target audience. 
If we need to hire costumes we need to make sure we hire them for a long enough period.

Finding the right Music

 I am looking on sites such as unsigned to find the music that my group can use for the music video because all of the music will be un copyrighted.
Unsigned is a site that has lots of unsigned artists looking to get bigger and looking for any free promotion and marketing. 

So far we have not found any music that takes our interest however we have been using twitter to request the rights to music from a couple of signed artists. We will continue to use sites such as unsigned and memusic.metro to search for the right piece of music for us.

What is the purpose of a music video?

A music video is very vital to the success of a track. a music video illustrates the lyrics, like pictures in a book. it also may help towards the promotion and marketing of the artist. often people like a video even if they are not keen on the song an example of this in my case would be "The lazy song" by Bruno mars.
